Obedience Levels

At Wilson County K9, our dog obedience training program incorporates the use of Educator Technologies E-collars to establish effective communication between dogs and their handlers. The key to successful training with the E-collar lies in identifying the dog’s “base” level—this is the lowest setting at which the dog exhibits the slightest reaction, such as a head turn, shake, neck scratch, or any subtle change in behavior. This base level becomes the foundation for all command associations, ensuring consistent and clear communication without overwhelming the dog. Many trainers lack the expertise to properly introduce the E-collar, which often leads to the collar being misused as a tool of punishment. At Wilson County K9, our team is skilled in using the E-collar for its intended purpose—facilitating a communication bridge between dog and owner, enhancing the training experience while maintaining the dog’s well-being. Every dog enrolled in our Obedience Training program receives their own E-collar, which is included in the price of training at all levels.
